Dr Sean O’Rourke

Dr O’Rourke is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the MRH Tullamore with a sessional
commitment to the ED at MRH Portlaoise. He qualified as a consultant in 2002 following Higher Specialist Training at Leicester Royal Infirmary and has been in his current post since 2006. In 2020 Dr O’Rourke was appointed Deputy Clinical Director for the National Ambulance Service with his main focus being on alternative pathways of care for patients who ring 112/999. He was appointed as a member of the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) in 2024 and is chairman of PHECC’s registration committee. Dr O’Rourke is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine reflecting his interest in
soft-tissue injury management and sports injuries.
